Books about Guernsey. · Non-Fiction.

Bloney Good Times

by Sally Guilmoto, Margie Pearson, Jill Machon and Kay Parnwell (whew!)

A lovely little book about Guernsey in the 1950s and 1960s. Its a collection of anecdotes about loads of things from food to jobs to weddings and holidays and much more. For those old enough to have been growing up in Guernsey back in the 50s and 60s it is sure to be a blast from the past. Reliving such events as schools, holidays and weddings, it is a fun read.

Full of photographs, it brings back the ‘good old days’.  Guernsey back in those days really was a gem. A good book to give as a gift or to read yourself, it cleverly captures a bygone Guernsey age that is far retreating to the past.

MY RATING: 5 / 5.
