Demelza (The Poldark Saga #2) by Winston Graham

“Let me stay a little longer in the sun,”

I loved this book. Its the second book in what has proven to be a very enjoyable book series, which picks up at the point in which the first book finished up. Demelza and Ross become parents to a daughter, Julia, and the rest of the story is taken up with minor subplots to do with Ross’s business dealings and a love triangle between a miner, an actress and a doctor which seemed a bit unimportant but it will hopefully have comparable significance, at least later on in the saga. Over all, however, it was a wonderful book and I cried twice at the end of the book (if you have seen the series, you will know series 1 ends in tragedy!)

I really want to continue looking for the other books in the series before series 2 begins next year. So far, they have stayed faithful in the adaptation of book to TV so hopes are high.

A super book which took me longer than expected. That made it all the more enjoyable because I could enjoy it more.

MY RATING: **** / *****
