by Giovanna Fletcher.
This book is about the wedding of Maddy, a successful photographer, caught in a love triangle between her two friends: Ben and Rob (who is also her fiance…). The book recounts their friendship from childhood and all the complicated feelings that brings – through to the rocky road to adulthood.
While it is not exactly a stellar book, it is a book which could be the perfect book to read on the beach – a must have in the current summery weather. I genuinely liked the book and Giovanna’s writing style is lovely and colloquial. I’ll keep an eye out for her other books.
In a society where guys and girls can’t be just friends, this book was interesting and fun. However, my only qualm is the lack of differentiation between the three narrative voices. If this was done, it could add another dimension to the story and the audience could get a fuller picture of each narrator’s personality.
