Hunger Games Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

“Right before the explosions begin, I find a star.”

I read this book following my appreciation of the first book. This book wasn’t as good as Book 1, but it was still an action packed read with plenty of loyalties tested. Obviously Peeta and Katniss weren’t going to be granted their happy ending right away after winning the Hunger Games…

This book was certainly written by Collins in the afterglow of realizing she had a winning formula on her hands. Some of the book was good and the ending would have been a shock if I hadn’t googled it beforehand. Whenever food was written about, it certainly showed that Collins should become a food writer.

It was a good, quick read. But Collins will hopefully not flog the dead horse of the trilogy…

MY RATING: **.5 / *****
